Michelle Abbott, LMFT
Director of Therapy
Michelle Abbott, LMFT, serves as the director of therapy with nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, Michelle brings a systemic approach to her practice, focusing on the dynamics and patterns within relationships, rather than placing blame on any one individual. By identifying roadblocks and fostering change within the system, she empowers clients to heal and achieve better outcomes in their relationships and lives.
She has a masters and is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful technique she uses to help clients process trauma and break free from negative beliefs. Her work with EMDR provides clients the opportunity to gain peace and perspective, transforming areas of deep pain into spaces of healing and growth. She specializes in trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, grief work, marriage restoration, infidelity, and boundary building, with a passion for guiding individuals, couples, families, and adolescents through seasons of distress and toward meaningful change.
Additionally, Michelle offers compassionate support to families affected by disabilities, addressing challenges like caregiver fatigue, while emphasizing the importance of resilience and connection. Through her extensive experience, she has also become a sought-after public speaker at churches, conferences, and retreats, where she shares her insights and passion for personal empowerment and relational healing. For Michelle, the greatest privilege of her work is being invited into the hard places of people’s lives and witnessing their transformation as they heal, grow, and blossom. Outside of her practice, she finds joy in exploring the beauty of Arizona through hiking, kayaking, and adventuring with family and friends.
